Algebra in Wonderland

My tutor showed me this article from New York Times that reveals how the author of Alice in Wonderland, a former mathematician, integrated his love for math into the book in a discreet manner. I found this so interesting :3.

i.e. The “Tea” in the Tea Party of the Mad Hatter and the March Hare is supposed to stand for “T”, which equals time in math terms. In the book, the hatter, the hare, and the door mouse continuously go around and around the tea table to reflect the term quaternions- a number system based on four terms and calculates motion. BUT since there are also three of them, and “Time” is absent, the three are forced to infinitely rotate around the plane.
“When Alice leaves the tea partiers, they are trying to stuff the Dormouse into the teapot so they can exist as an independent pair of numbers — complex, still mad, but at least free to leave the party.”

OK THAT’S IT. IDEK. I WANT TO WATCH THE MOVIE THIS WEEKEND CAUSE ANNE HATHAWAY IS HOT.
